In order to encourage children to read more mother tongue language books, the National Library Board has set up several Chinese reading clubs for children at various public libraries since 2015. The“Junior Avid Readers”club is a Chinese reading club for children aged 7 to 9 years old. Held on a monthly basis, the reading club session is a one-hour programme with storytelling and group activities.
